The emergence of the COVID-19 is changing the lives of people all over the world.
Fortunately, Japan is in a situation where the spread of infection is suppressed, but I think everyone is still changing their lives more or less.
There are still no signs of convergence in the world, and it is necessary to prepare for the second-wave and the third-wave in Japan, but now that the state of emergency has been lifted, I think it’s time to rethink our daily life.
So, this time, I would like to look back on the period of “stay home”, and here are some important points for us with a simple lifestyle.
- The effect of simple-life during stay home
- Lifestyle 1: Having a sense of ownership for everyday events
- Lifestyle 2: Living with daily goals
- Lifestyle 3: Thorough physical condition management and hygiene management
- Lifestyle 4: Reduce possessions
- Lifestyle 5: simple and healthy diet
- Lifestyle 6: Minimum and efficient shopping
- Lifestyle 7: Having a hobby
- Lifestyle t8: Reading
- Lifestyle 9: Be able to take care of yourself
- Lifestyle 10: Save money and operate from a long-term perspective
The effect of simple-life during stay home
Frankly speaking, the life during the stay home was not so different from usual for me”.
Because I didn’t have to go out so much, so I didn’t feel stressed even in the stay home.
Rather, this period of self-exclusion became an opportunity for the family to “adjust the rhythm of life,” “replenish our energy for tomorrow,” and “grow up.”
I would like to introduce some of the points of lifestyle just along with what I was sending out in this blog.
Lifestyle 1: Having a sense of ownership for everyday events
While watching and hearing the news of the COVID-19 that is raging around the world on TV and the Internet, “thinking of the virus as someone else’s problem” or “think as if it was my own” is a very big difference of lifestyle.
This is not just optimistic or pessimistic, but ‘If you or your family were infected, what would it be like to affect yourself and your partner?’It’s important to be able to predict what will happen to yourself.
If you think “how can I prevent myself and my family from getting infected?” or “What should I do if I get infected?” at an early stage, the actions after that change automatically.
Lifestyle 2: Living with daily goals
Just as I have a one-year goal and plan at the company, I try to discuss with my family how to set a one-year goal at home and how to spend this year’s long vacation.
It doesn’t have to be the kind of goal you’re required to do at work, but it’s a good idea to share your personal goals with your family.
Doesn’t time fly?
In the meantime, we will be able to become aware of each other so that we don’t spend a lot of time in a careless way, and we will be able to look back later and feel the fulfillment and growth of our daily life.
For example, this stay-home period was one month at the shortest, so we choose the following four themes.
- Spend time together and deepen the relationshipbetween couple and parent and child.
- Improve lifestyle and boost immunity.
- Growing up with hobbies and reading.
- Protest and increase assets.
Since I will introduce each specific contents in point 3 or later, I will briefly introduce only the example of the son of the elementary school student here.
The theme during my son’s stay-home is
- Search for something new in the illustrated book every morning.
- Read a book
- Practice ukulele
- Practice Othello
Ukulele and Othello can be enjoyed by parents and children, and I think these two are just right for the parent-child relationship.
Since the stay-home period extended to nearly three months, my son seems to have gained considerable ability.
Lifestyle 3: Thorough physical condition management and hygiene management
In order not to take in the virus, it is important to distinguish the inside and outside of the house as a matter of course to wear a mask and wash your hands while you are out of the office.
At my home, it is a custom to take a shower as soon as we get home. The more thoroughly prevents viruses from entering the house, the more you can relax in the house with peace of mind.
You might think the shower custom when you get home is too particular, However, I think it makes a lot of sense to live in Japan, because of the pollen season, the flu epidemic, and the summer sweaty season.
Lifestyle 4: Reduce possessions
It is so-called “decluttering”, “minimalism”.It is the basis of a simple life.
It is to keep the thing in the house few as well as the belongings when going out.
This makes it easier to distinguish between things outside and inside the house, saving you the trouble of cleaning and sterilizing infection prevention.
In addition, if you save time and effort related to things, you will be able to save time, money, and effort, and you will be able to focus on what you really want to do.
Lifestyle 5: simple and healthy diet
The best time for a family gathering is a meal. The delicious food at home was very important for my stay-home.
However, if you stick to cooking too much, you get tired, don’t you?
Eating high-quality ingredients with simple cooking is healthy and time-saving.
Lifestyle 6: Minimum and efficient shopping
Even during the stay-home, it is possible to shop for daily necessities, but in the case of our home that uses the online home delivery service, we did not go shopping at all.
This not only reduces the risk of infection, but also saving time.
I think that there are many people who used online home delivery on the occasion of stay-home, but if you make good use of it, it is also possible to reduce expenses.
Lifestyle 7: Having a hobby
The hobby of actively working outside is also good, but if you have a hobby that you can enjoy and train at home on every day life, the stay-home period will not be a problem at all.
My hobbies are playing guitar, ukulele, and so on, but enjoying music as a hobby can also relax and be very effective.
If you want to start playing musical instruments, ukulele is recommended!
Lifestyle t8: Reading
The best way to improve your quality of life and enrich your life is to invest in your own self-confidence to improve your thinking and skills.
Reading is also ideal as one of the hobbies you can do at home, and above all, it leads to growth.
I haven’t been able to write about books on this blog yet, but I’m going to write about recommended books sooner or later.
Lifestyle 9: Be able to take care of yourself
I think you should pay outside to experience professional skills, such as eating dishes that you are particular about at restaurants, receiving hospitality at hotels, and watching entertainment shows.
However, it is recommended to be able to spend money and time on the above as a result if you want to be able to finish the usual things such as running costs “easily” by “yourself” as much as possible.
If you don’t need a real professional to get a haircut or learn, wouldn’t it be ants to try it yourself?
Lifestyle 10: Save money and operate from a long-term perspective
If you have a solid reserve, you can keep your mind stable.
In addition, if you live with daily expenses down, it was time to increase your savings during the stay-home.
Basically, it is a simple investment method that only buys more stocks held over a long period of time, but at the moment when stock prices have gradually returned (June 11), the amount of assets of stocks has gradually exceeded that before COVID-19.
I will describe the asset management in this blog sooner or later.
How did you like it?
After all, I felt once again that simple life is “the art of living a rich life of everyday life while suppressing wasteful expenses rather than seeking a glamorous life”.
I’m sure it will be adapted to the life of with COVID-19 in the future!
I hope you will be able to refer to it.
